Constructing, Administering, and Scoring Tests: Selected-Response Items

First, participants learn how to write objectives and design test blueprints. We then work on guidelines to follow when assembling a test, as well as guidelines for administering and scoring tests. Second, we focus on how to devise various types of selected-response items (i.e., true false/binary choice, matching, multiple choice, and interpretive exercises). We discuss advantages and disadvantages of each item type and guidelines to follow when writing items of each type. Participants practice identifying and correcting flaws in items.
