First, participants learn how to write objectives and design test blueprints. We work on guidelines to follow when assembling a test, as well as guidelines for administering and scoring tests. (This part is the same as the first part of the workshop entitled “Constructing, Administering, and Scoring Tests: Selected-Response Items.”) Second, we focus on how to devise various types of constructed-response items (i.e., short answer, completion, and essay questions). Participants learn how to create scoring guides and rubrics to evaluate students’ responses to these items.
